Hi, I'm Neyssa

There’s something magical about welcoming a new baby into your home. The sweet sighs, soft cuddles, and that oh-so-new baby smell fill your home, creating memories you’ll cherish forever. These are the moments I strive to capture through my lens during your in-home newborn photo session. As a mother of six, I intimately understand the sacred trust you place in me to photograph your baby. I want to reassure you: newborn safety is my top priority.

In-Home Newborn Photography: Safety Comes First

Every time I step into a home for a newborn session, whether it’s in Seattle or Snoqualmie, I come prepared not only with my camera but with a safety-first mindset. This isn’t just about capturing beautiful images; it’s about caring for your baby as I would my own.

In each session, my aim is to create a calm, comfortable atmosphere, a space where you feel at ease and your baby can peacefully snooze or gaze around, oblivious to the camera lens. And in every frame, every shot, newborn safety is paramount.

Comfort Breeds Safety

An essential component of newborn safety is comfort. When you and your baby are comfortable, you’re relaxed. And when you’re relaxed, your baby is too. This not only leads to stunning photographs but also ensures your baby is content and thus safe during your newborn portrait session.

That’s the beauty of in-home newborn photo sessions. There’s no need to pack up everything for an outing to a studio. You’re in your space, with all the things you need for your baby close at hand. This familiarity and ease are part of what makes our sessions so safe and unique.

Since there are no props or unnatural poses used in my lifestyle newborn photography approach, your baby is never uncomfortable because of something we are doing.

Newborn Baby-Led Sessions for Ultimate Safety

Each newborn session is designed to be baby-led, meaning we move at your baby’s pace. If we need to pause for a feeding, a diaper change, or just some cuddle time, that’s exactly what we do. There’s no rush here – these precious early days should be savored, not hurried.

This baby-led approach isn’t just about capturing genuine, in-the-moment photos; it’s about ensuring your baby is never placed in positions they find uncomfortable. It’s all about those natural positions that your baby feels most secure and content in.

My process has a flexible flow that aims to capture types of photographs instead of specific poses. For example, (in a family with a mom, dad, and baby) I will capture mom with baby, dad with baby, baby’s portrait, and mom and dad with baby. (Please note if your family makeup is different, that does not matter, I will work to capture each parent with baby individually and then together).

However, should your baby prefer to be held upright, that’s how they will be held. Should your baby not want to be set down, I will photograph their portraits in your arms. The beautiful thing about this approach is that it not only gives ensures your newborn’s comfort and safety, it also means your gallery of photographs will be unique to your family. You can know that your newborn’s portraits tell the story of your baby and family.

Creating Cherished Memories Safely

Your in-home newborn photo session is more than just a photo shoot; it’s a way to freeze a moment in time, capturing not just the adorable newness of your baby, but also the love and connection of your growing family, right in the very space where it all begins.

This safety-focused, relaxed approach to in-home newborn photography makes it seamless to include all family members. Do you have grandparents visiting? Great! They can join in too. Siblings? Of course, they need to be in the photos. What about fur babies? Yes, PLEASE include them!

So, from one mom to another, I want you to know that your newborn baby’s safety is as important to me as it is to you. In every session, my goal is to capture the love and magic of your family’s early days in a way that’s relaxed, authentic, and above all, safe. The Neyssa Lee Photography promise is one of warmth, connection, and an unwavering commitment to newborn safety.
