Neyssa shares best workouts for busy moms

How do I manage regular workouts while having 6 kids and running a photography business? This piece shares the best workouts for busy moms. Spoiler alert, it’s a Peloton. However, keep reading why and how it’s changed my life.

Remember that time before kids……I’ll let you think back a minute.

I worked out daily, spending at least an hour at the gym. At the same time, I worked for Starbucks while I was a full-time college student. I was busy (or so I thought, ha!) so when I heard moms say how they found it hard to find time to work out, how their workouts just slipped their minds, I didn’t get it.

Fast forward and I’m a mom of 5 struggling to find time to workout. I needed to find the best workouts for busy moms. I was 3 months postpartum with Cohen and wondering if I’d ever feel like myself in my own skin again.

I had gym membership. However getting in classes or a workout when the kids club was open, around naps was hard. Not to mention, my shy kids would cry at drop off and I’d spend my entire workout worrying they were “suffering.” It made going back to the gym hard and stressful to think about.

That’s when a friend told me about Peloton. I continued to ask around and everyone seemed to love the whisper-quiet cycle bike they could do whenever was most convenient for them. It sure sounded like it was the best workout for my life as a busy mom.

Cycling was my favorite class at the gym, and being able to do it while my kids were nearby without packing up a soul made it even more appealing.

My husband and I ordered a Peloton and it changed our lives.

When we ordered the Peloton we had no idea how a week later the world would be forever changed. We had no idea that gyms would be closed as the world faced a pandemic.

We also had no idea how much we would love the workouts, love that we had instructors that fit our own personality all with playlists we each love. We also found that not only were the cycle classes amazing, they had yoga, strength, stretching and more that would help us get a more rounded fitness routine.

Between homeschooling, running a business, and raising children I have still been able to squeeze in workouts. Because the classes vary in length and style, there’s a workout for my time, needs and goals.

What makes Peloton the best for busy moms needing workouts?

Classes are both on demand and live. They range in length from 5 minutes to 90 minutes (depending on the class type). So you can always squeeze in something.

I will often take a 10-minute yoga, and then a 20-minute strength class on top. Stacking classes is a way for me to get the best workout as a busy mom. It means I can pause the class to get the baby a snack or change a diaper and get right back to work.

I know that you’ve probably seen people sharing videos of themselves celebrating milestones or getting a ride in, but that makes it even more special. The Peloton community is one that cheers each other on, encourages each other, and makes you want to press harder.

If you’re looking for ways to fit in workouts around your busy schedule, I highly recommend a Peloton. It has saved my sanity on more than one occasion while keeping me healthy and active.
