Hi, I'm Neyssa

Looking for a location for family photos that showcase the beauty of the beaches and woods of Seattle? Keep reading as I share about family photography at Lincoln Park in Seattle.

I first met this family shortly after their son was born. Their daughter was a sweet toddler who loved on her brother and was so helpful, like my new best friend. Fast forward to their recent family session, and I could hardly believe the kids in front of my eyes. They had grown SO MUCH! However, they were still so loving towards each other, playful, and excited to hang out at one of Seattle’s most cherished locations, Lincoln Park.

Exploring Lincoln Park for Family Photos

Lincoln Park in Seattle is a photographer’s dream, offering a stunning mix of wooded trails and beautiful beach views. We started our session in the woods, allowing that gorgeous sunlight to filter through the trees. The towering evergreens and the soft, dappled light created a perfect natural backdrop for capturing intimate family moments.

After enjoying the serenity of the woods, we made our way down to the water. The contrast between the lush forest and the expansive beach is what makes Lincoln Park so special. It offers the best of both worlds for a family photoshoot. Despite the chilly waters of the Pacific Northwest, dad and daughter took a brave dip in the Sound, adding a playful and memorable element to their session.

Capturing Growth and Connection

Seeing how much the kids had grown since our first session was heartwarming. Their bond as siblings was evident, and their playful energy made the session so much fun. As a Seattle family photographer, moments like these are what I live for—capturing the authentic, loving connections between family members.

Tips for a Successful Family Photography at Lincoln Park

  • Family Photo Outfits: Dress in layers to accommodate the changing scenery from woods to beach. Neutral tones with pops of color work beautifully against the natural backdrop. Find more on What to Wear for Family Photos
  • Timing: Aim for the golden hour, either early morning or late afternoon, to take advantage of the best natural light.
  • Expect the Unexpected: Be prepared for spontaneous moments, like a swim in the Sound! These unplanned events often make the best photos. Bring a towel and change of clothes, just in case. But dipping toes in the water is always a fun way to end a family photoshoot.
  • Relax and Have Fun: The best photos come when families are relaxed and enjoying themselves. Lincoln Park’s diverse landscape helps create a fun and engaging environment for everyone.
