Milo,
On your 5th birthday I have so many wishes for you. 5 years ago you made me a mom. You have shown me what a new kind of love is, the love of a mother for her son. Your father and I can hardly believe you are 5 and that in a few short months you will be off to kindergarten (Sniff, sniff. Wipes tear away). It seems like yesterday you were taking your time coming into this world. You started off cautious and sure before doing anything and 5 years later you are the same way.
As we look to the year ahead, I wish for you to have more outdoor adventures. May your love of puddles and pushing your dump truck stay strong.
I wish for you to stay goofy with mama, no matter how old you get. I also wish for your love of facts and details to continue to grow as you do. May your love of reading continue to blossom, whether it is Lego “constructions” (as you so sweetly call them) or books. Your ability to recognize words and pick up on things blows my mind.
Most of all, on your 5th birthday I wish you the happiest of birthdays. We love you so much. And while I’m sad to see the baby has slipped away, the boy that has taken place is a pretty amazing one. I’m proud that I get to be your mama.
I love you.
*Mama (aka Neyssa)
