Want a great idea for a family photo location? Keep reading to learn more about Lake Sammamish State Park.
Finding the right location for family photos may feel overwhelming. The Pacific Northwest has so much to offer from mountains to rivers and lakes and even beaches.
However, not every park works well for a family photo session. Light plays a major role as do crowds, accessibility and variety of the spot.
Lake Sammamish State Park is a beautiful location for family photos.
Not only does this park have the gorgeous lake, it also has beautiful trails, giant trees (that turn beautiful colors in the fall).
Without walking very far you can have a great variety in your gallery of images.
There is plenty of space to run and explore at Lake Sammamish.
Although the playground (which is amazing, by the way) can often be very crowded on summer evenings, the park’s giant size means plenty of space to explore for your family photos. I could do several sessions back to back and the galleries can all look different because of such variety.
Should your kids need a place to run and dance, Lake Sammamish delivers.
Another perk of Lake Sammamish State Park is the sandy beaches.
With young children, large, rocky beaches can be tricky to maneuver on. However, this park offers a few sandy beaches that are much easier for little ones to run, play, and explore.
Bonus is often ducks will come to visit giving more entertainment and excitement during your family photo session.
The lake is crowded during the summer months. Sessions at this lake are better on weekday evenings or closer to sunset to ensure fewer people in your photos.
