There was a lot of planning that went into this session. When this mama-to-be first contacted me, we arranged for a mid-August maternity session. However, the heavy smoke and high heat was not idea for family photos (especially with air quality warnings). So we rescheduled for the end of August, and the weather could not have been more perfect.
This was the first time I had met this couple yet it was as if we were old friends. We just clicked. And while most men aren’t super excited about having their photos being taken, this soon to be papa was amazing. You could feel his love for his wife, his excitement over every detail of his baby boy. Never did I have to tell him get closer, or to look lovingly at his wife (which is completely normal and okay to have to tell people) but he couldn’t take his eyes off of her.
As I worked on their gallery, the beautiful sunlight and the connection of this husband and wife had my creative heart soaring. I sent off the gallery with a few butterflies, hoping they would love their images even half as much as I do. Then I received this response back, “I don’t know what to say, but (we) are speechless. We LOVE all of these, and I am so excited they came in today. I can’t stop looking at all of them. It was so great to meet you, and we can’t wait for our newborn pics to come and many more family moments down the road.”
To say I cannot wait to capture their newborn baby boy in a few months is an understatement!
I am always accepting newborn and maternity sessions. If you are expecting, contact me to start planning your perfect maternity session.
