Today I have two questions for you to think about as you read this blog post – What are your memories worth? Can you afford NOT to take the workshop?
If you don’t know me and my story, photography has been healing in my life. Photography is a way for me to hold onto memories that seem to quickly pass by, a way to capture right now as there is no certainty of what tomorrow will bring. I’m grateful for the many moments I have photographed, the stories of my babies’ childhoods that I have already documented.
Milo is turning 3 in a month and a half. I can hardly believe how “grown-up” he’s already getting. If you’re a mother, I’m sure you can relate. No matter how old your baby is, it feels as if only yesterday you were holding them in your arms for the very first time in the hospital. I’m sad to think of my baby getting so big, my first born leaving the toddler stage and starting preschool next year. It is as if I will blink and he will be out of the house. However, as I’m typing this I stop and look around my home. Photos fill my walls, Milo’s story told for all to see. Photo books sit on my coffee table beautifully documenting his birth, his ‘firsts’, the defining details of the many stages of his life so far.
As a mom, I’m so proud to have learned my camera and can take the photographs I want of my children. I am in control of my camera and the story I tell. And while, yes, I am a professional photographer, but I am a mother first. I took the time to learn how to use my camera, I took workshops (the same one I’m teaching you) to learn how to make the camera an extension of my heart. Photographing my own children gives me such pride and joy. Sharing my photos with friends and family and all of you, fills my soul.
Again, I return to the question in the beginning. What are your memories worth? No matter how old your children (or grandchildren) are it is not too late to learn how to use your camera, to start documenting them with beautiful photos you can be proud of. I truly believe you can NOT afford to NOT take my photography workshop. It is time to take control of your camera and begin capturing your family’s legacy.
P.S. There are still spots available in my March workshops. Click here to sign up for the March 29th, Growing CONFIDENCE Workshop where we will spend the day learning your DSLR, how to tell your family’s story, how to use natural light – truly EMPOWERING YOU.
