Hi, I'm Neyssa

I debated writing this article. Not because I don’t fully believe in the power and grace of our community, but because I was afraid people are tired of seeing the words “Coronavirus” or “COVID-19.” However, as a small business owner and a citizen in a small town, I know the importance of small businesses.

Below I’m going to share a few of my favorite local businesses with ways you can support them right now. I am proud to live and work in the Snoqualmie Valley. The community here is amazing and supportive of one another. So let’s show our love and help these businesses not only survive but thrive.

First, here are a ways you can help small businesses no matter where you live.

Engaging with businesses on social media helps them get seen.

Did you know that there is this thing called an algorithm, that basically determines what you see (and don’t see) in your feeds? We spend our time writing good content, things to help serve you, let you know about our offerings and products. Yet most of you will never see our posts.

Engaging authentically with the content put out by small businesses tells this algorithm that our content is important and will then show more people. Simply liking a post, or even better, commenting on the post, can help us tremendously. You can also share a post you love. Don’t forget to tag a small business when you’re eating their food, showing off the photos they took of your family, or recommending to friends and family.

Purchase a gift card card or schedule a future session.

Purchasing a gift card for future use can be a great way to show businesses you’ll be there when things are back to normal.

We have even added gift cards as an option for a future family photo session if you want to ensure you will get photos done this year without the pressure of trying to select a date at this time. (Purchase your gift cards for Neyssa Lee Photography)

Place an online order.

Many small shops have updated their websites to allow for online orders. Some are taking orders via social media or phone calls. Many of the small businesses I talked to even have local delivery.

A few of the local businesses that need your support:

  • Pearl and Stone Wine Co. – Whether your looking for a gift or for a few bottles of wine for yourself, this local Wine company is the perfect option. Online ordering, curbside pick up, and local delivery are available.

  • Sweet Treats Cookie Dough – They make edible cookie dough with gluten free, dairy free, and vegan options. They have make at home kits that make for an easy and fun activity with the kids or a great gift. They ship nationwide and offer free local delivery. *

  • Sweet Blissful Blooms – Located in Fall City, this floral designer normally sells gorgeous bouquets at Peek Place Market. Place an order for local delivery, arrange to pick up in Fall City, or gather your neighborhood and set up a group order for delivery. Bring a little bit of spring and beauty into your home and help a local business at the same time.

  • Snapdoodle Toys – This adorable toy store offers plenty of great toys, games, and art projects. Think Easter baskets and quarantine entertainment. Shop online with $5 flat rate shipping.*

  • Snoqualmie Fall Candy Shoppe – This downtown Snoqualmie staple has online ordering of any of their delicious candies, including their best selling fudge. They offer shipping, local deliveries, and curbside pick up (on specific days/times).*

  • JL The Boutique – This downtown Snoqualmie boutique offers on trend, affordable women’s fashion. Currently, they are offering style boxes with local delivery.

  • Sweeping Beauty Cleaning Service – This locally owned cleaning company not only does a beautiful job cleaning your home (I personally can vouch as they clean my house), but they are so friendly and accommodating. Grab a gift certificate for a friend or pre-pay for your services, you will not regret having them come and deep clean your home.*

  • Wild Hare Vintage – Another downtown Snoqualmie favorite, this adorable antique shop has plenty of collectibles, antiques, farmhouse decor, gift ideas and more. Give them a call to place an order with free local delivery.

  • Lorenzo’s Pizza & More – Located on Snoqualmie Ridge, this pizza place offers plenty of variety. Curbside delivery available.

  • hesmarieH – This locally owned fine jewelry company offers plenty of gorgeous pieces. They are offering free shipping on all of their in-stock pieces, or grab a gift card to get something from their upcoming spring launch. Looking for a gift for mother’s day or for a senior in your life? Hes-Marie’s jewelry is the perfect gift. *

  • Home Clean Home – This small business is out of Maple Valley, a little further than the Snoqualmie Valley, however I can’t help but give my cousin a little shout out. If you’re in the Maple Valley area, please consider purchasing a gift card for services once this is all over.

Do you have a small business you’d like included, please reach out and I will gladly add you to the list.

I have placed a * by the places I have personally visited and loved. Though while reaching out to businesses for permission to share showed me how many more great places I cannot wait to check out.
