Last month I was blessed with the opportunity to take photos of a newborn baby boy. He was so precious. But the most surprising was how calm and collected mom and dad were. You’d think they’d been parents their entire life, not a mere 7 days. You could feel their ease and joy as I captured their newborn baby boy.Mom and dad had decorated the nursery so beautifully. I loved the wood wall dad put in to make this room feel even more like a little boy’s room. But still the white crib and soft details kept it newborn baby boy appropriate. (Baby’s name is shown with parents permission).
While baby boy was taking a little changing break I took the opportunity to capture a few of the room details. Like this little mobile! I love the grey chevron (in fact you may seem some in my future nursery)!
This newborn baby boy didn’t want to stay asleep, but I was still able to capture gorgeous shots of him drifting off. And I even used a hat from SebastianSeven on Etsy. Doesn’t he look to precious?
This might be one of my favorite photos of him by himself. I love how he’s all swaddled and how he is sleeping with his mouth wide open! will be curious to hear if he still sleeps like this as he grows!
Although I captured some beautiful photos of him by himself, this little guy preferred to be in mom or dad’s arms. I didn’t mind that at all. There’s nothing more beautiful that a newborn baby boy in daddy’s arms (and mommy’s too!).
During newborn photo session, I love to show baby’s tiny size by using mom or dad. This newborn baby boy fit so nicely in daddy’s hands. And look at all that hair! None of my kids had hair at birth so I love to see babies with that little hair swirl!
Thank you for inviting me in your home to capture this special time. I can’t wait to see him again at his 3 month session!

P.S. If you’re expecting, book your newborn session in the 2nd or 3rd trimester! That way, when baby comes you don’t have to worry about booking a photographer or preparing for your session.
