At the request of some friends and family (who are not on Facebook), I thought I would do a personal post of a few of my own maternity photos along with pictures of our completed nursery! For my session, I enlisted the help of a friend (and her wonderful husband who helped with the kids) to take our pictures. It was great to be on the other side of the camera. I think it actually will help me be a better photographer as I’m reminded what it is like to have that lens pointing right at you!
In the beginning, Milo was rather cooperative! He even let us put his hat on, and smiled! As you can see, I have myself a sweet mama’s boy – and I love it! He’s so cuddly, I hope this stage lasts a long time!
After a while, Milo was done hanging out with mom and dad. He figured he would explore the park….
So we did a few photos of just Baby #2 & I, and Derek, me and the Baby.
My favorite image from ours session! While my boy may look like his dad, I think this photo proves, he at least has my eyes!
On to the nursery….That same friend who helped us with photos, put together our nursery. Although we knew it was going to be owl themed, we weren’t allowed to peek until it was done. The reveal was worth the wait (much like waiting to find out the gender of your baby…). Didn’t it turn out beautifully? The leaves on the tree above the crib have words of wisdom for Baby from friends and family, making the piece even more special.
Can you believe she painted this on her own (probably while holding her 8 month old son, too)?
Thank you, Lyndsey, for such amazing gifts. Both our photos and the room turned out beautifully!
Stay tuned, I had some great sessions this past weekend that I can’t wait to share with you soon!
