If I’m honest, taking care of two toddlers provides me with many opportunities that leave me feeling accomplished. Many days, just taking a shower leaves me feeling accomplished. Mom’s, I know you know what I mean! Other days, it’s a day without time-outs, or a day where the house is cleaned, or when I complete a family’s gallery. As a mostly stay-at-home mom, much of my accomplishment is home and family based. But recently, I had a major personal accomplishment. I crocheted a hat for Sawyer, and it fits! This may not seem like a big deal, but if you recall the first hat I made for her, you’d understand how proud I am!
Of course, if I’m honest, she won’t wear it. She loves hats, but she won’t wear this one. Figures, right? On the plus side, Milo asked for me to make him a hat! So I’m working on that. I will share when it’s done. Let’s hope he will wear it – then I will really be feeling accomplished!
What leaves you feeling accomplished? Big or small, what are you proud of? Have you taken the time to do something for yourself lately? I know how having young children can make it feel selfish to do something for yourself, but I can say that doing something creative for myself (crocheting, photographing my kids, photographing other families) leaves me feeling accomplished. It makes me a better mom. Just a thought to ponder for your Wednesday.
