Hi, I'm Neyssa

As we progress through this time of quarantine wondering what the future looks like, we are assured of one thing – family is more important than ever. We find peace in sharing photographs and videos with our loved ones we cannot be with, all while strengthening the bonds of our family unit.

Of course I’m sure you have so many questions about what the future holds. I know that I do. But I know for certain that photography is still so important, documenting our love, joy, and that we were here, is important. And I can help you do just that, all while maintaining social distancing.

So what does a family photo session taken with social distancing look like?

The shortest answer, almost exactly the same as before. Your gallery will be filled with images featuring your family together, laughing together, playing together, loving on one another.

The family photo session featured here was taken when social distancing was suggested, just before the stay home order. We followed the guidelines and were so grateful the weather was amazing so that we could have their yearly spring session take place early.

What do you do during a family photo session where social distancing must take place?

I have always posed families by directing and coach, not by physically moving you myself. I continue to guide you just as I always have. Maybe I am standing a tad further away so I have to talk louder.

Will all my photos be super far away now?

Of course not. My favorite lens for family photography is already the 135mm lens, which means I have to be backed up away from my subjects, just to get everyone in the frame. Much of my work is with the 135mm lens, so once again, nothing changes. I am able to take individual portraits of your children, you as an entire family, and photos of mom and dad together all with that lens.

Where will my session take place?

The locations I choose for family photos are ones that offer you somewhere to explore together all while having beautiful light and not being crowded. So as parks and locations open up, we will use that same criteria for selecting the perfect location for your family to be photographed.

So what will be different?

As much as I want to, I will not be snuggling your babies or hugging you and your children. I will be maintaining space between us for both of our health and safety. But you can bet when this is all over, I’m gonna be collecting those hugs from all of the families I photographed during this time.

As a small business owner, I am so grateful for your continued support. I know the responsibility of documenting your family and do not take the task lightly. I also know, that through this all we can create beautiful photos of your family just as we ever did, all while practicing social distancing. If you have any other questions about family photo sessions during this time, please do not hesitate to reach out.

As soon as it is deemed okay and safe, family photo sessions will continue again!

In the meantime, reserve your spot for this year with a summer or fall session date. To ensure flexibility I am limiting the number of sessions I am taking at a time.
