Last month (where did July go) I had so much fun capturing colorful mini sessions! These mini sessions were SOLD OUT, and all of our kids had so much fun painting – the sheet and each other! I admit, this session was unlike anything I had ever done before. It was also a touch out of my element as I tend to love the closeup shots of kids. This was more about story telling, and each family had their own story as the painted. Since I have so many favorite images, I decided to break the post into several blog posts to give you an idea of just how many great images each family received for their mini session. Who knows, maybe it will help you pull the trigger and book a Back to School Mini Session coming up at the end of the month!
My first family had the sweet baby boy who modeled for the last Confidence Workshop, and his adorable big sister. It was fun to see baby boy sitting up on his own! In case you were wondering, we gave him a brand new, clean paint brush just in case it went into his mouth! Mom had said this was big sister’s first time painting. I was impressed with her artwork!
We did let sister paint her brother a little bit, just to add color to him. And I love this shot of how them painting together. Towards the end she just started blobbing the paint on. I’m not sure if the sheet is dry yet, but she was proud of her creation!I’m sure you recall this second family. My best friends’ kids, they are in a lot of my photos! So I was even more excited that I was capturing their colorful mini session! When we told the kids they could paint each other, their reaction was priceless. I think Little Brother could hardly believe it. Yet, I love how Big Sister is standing there and taking it!They did work on the sheet too, not just each other. Big Sister did a great job of painting her entire “canvas.” I think she’s an artist in training!I love this series of this young man. He’s so handsome even with paint on his face. Their mom told me this was one of her favorites. I agree. Notice how sister is taking the opportunity to paint brother while he’s loading up more paint.
Those were just few of my favorites from these two families. Stay tuned for Capturing Colorful Mini Sessions Part II with even more fun painting shots!
