Back-to-School is one of my favorite times of year. As a kid, I couldn’t wait to go back to school shopping. Then I would spend the days (or maybe weeks) before class started organizing those fresh school supplies. New pencils, never used highlighters, and a new binder to decorate! It’s no wonder I love taking back-to-school photos!
This year, I decided to hold two dates to give people a chance to get non-traditional photos of their kids to mark the start of a new year. You know what I’m talking about. School photos with a blue backdrop – traditional, boring, stiff. But school photos don’t have to be boring. And ask these kids, we had some fun at the first session of the 2015 Back-to-School Mini Sessions. Sad you missed out? Don’t fret, there is still space for THIS SATURDAY’S minis (from 4-6pm).
I changed it up a bit from last year. With a new location, and even did a few sibling shots, too! (And a funny story, the globe I borrowed last year, broke. But that made it WAY MORE FUN! You’ll see as you scroll down).
It’s good to see that though older, this fellow hasn’t changed a bit from last year! He’s still hiding behind his book as he reads. Though don’t you love that he brought his football too? What an awesome addition of her personality, his story, that I got go capture!Oh, let me tell you about this guy. He was a hoot. He took a little bit to warm up to me. And he LOVED the apple, so much, he started chomping on it! I shared that photo on Facebook. But isn’t he handsome?
See, we had fun with the globe!
I tried convincing this fellow that the globe was SO heavy, there was no way he could lift it. He proved me wrong. Okay, so many favorites. Here are just a few more that I loved.
Happy start of the school year kids! Thanks for allowing me to capture you. Have a great school year!
P.S. Only ONE more date available for a September family session. October is almost full too. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve your spot.
