Hi, I'm Neyssa

“We want family photos at Snoqualmie Pass.”

I had photographed this family for several years now. Each year includes different ideas, from climbing large trees, to getting out the motorcycles. This year, we headed to the mountains for family photos at Snoqualmie Pass and some fun in the snow. This mom told me that her husband loved the mountains and the snow, “It’s the only place he’s not too hot!” Of course I could not say no when she told me she wanted family photos at Snoqualmie Pass!

I love where we live because a quick car ride gets you to the mountains with beautiful snow. We picked a Saturday morning in November (as soon as the snow was deep enough for photos), and headed up to Snoqualmie Pass.

What do you wear for family photos in the snow?

You might be wondering what you should wear for family photos at Snoqualmie Pass in the snow. This family did it beautifully. Not only did they make sure they all had boots on to keep their feet warm and dry, but also chose to wear nicer clothes, including scarves and hats. Additionally, they also brought their snow coats and gloves which we removed while I photographed them. The layers allowed them to keep warm, and have an epic snowball fight. They also chose neutral, dark colors which helped them to really stand out against the white in the snow.

If your family loves the snow, contact me about doing your family photos at Snoqualmie Pass this year. Still wondering if a winter photo session is right for you? Here are 3 reasons I highly recommend you consider it! (For the record, the pass is also beautiful during the summer months too!).
